ANTI-AGEING
Eyes seem to present the biggest challenge as we age: make-up just doesn't seem to work the way it used to, mainly because it settles into fine lines and wrinkles. To apply make-up to older eyes, open the eye area by gently holding the eye brow up. This allows you to apply shadow all over the lid, rather than just the area that's visible.
ANTI- AGEING TIPS
- Avoid frosted iridescent shadows containing mica, a pearlized powder, which settles into and emphasizes fine lines and wrinkles.
- Look for long-lasting matte shades of eye shadow. Matte and lighter shades lift and open the eye area, while shiny, iridescent eye shadows, even if in fashion, emphasize crepe-like skin.
- Avoid liquid eyeliner, which becomes increasingly more difficult to apply as the crepe like character of the skin increases with age. Rather opt for a pencil or a powder shadow applied with a blunt brush, which is softer and more flattering.
- Deep- set eyes need bringing out - apply a pale colour across the entire upper lid from the lash line to the brow.
